Friends of the Churchyard

The Friends of Wivelsfield Churchyard support the church by helping to raise funds for the  upkeep of the churchyard.  There are many families with loved ones who are now buried or interred in the Churchyard.    We strive to ensure that it remains a tranquil and pleasant place to visit for whatever reason may have brought you there.

The Churchyard grass is maintained by a  contractor who tenders periodically for the contract.  However when large expenditure such as having to repoint the wall comes up the church has to find the funds to cover this and the friends help to fundraise through awareness, attending special services and most recently pioneering the campaign to raise the money through such things as a buy a brick campaign.

We have an annual service for the friends of the churchyard, followed by refreshments in the spring months, please check the calendar to see when this years is scheduled.
